Law enforcement officials insist that they possess a cellular phone containing a text message in which Vybz Kartel allegedly ordered Gaza Slim to concoct a robbery story in an attempt to aid his legal defense. On October 29, Gaza Slim issued a police report at the Constant Spring Police station; claiming that Williams, the man Kartel's accused of killing, robbed and gun-butted her during an incident in Havendale, St. Andrew. The police report was filed five days after police charged Kartel in Williams’ murder.
Gaza Slim was formally charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice and attempting to pervert the course of justice on Friday and will remain in custody until at least December 19, her next scheduled court appearance. Additionally, Kartel's expected to appear in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrates Court on that date as well.
Kartel, Gaza Slim, fellow Portmore Empire member, Shawn Campbell aka Shawn Storm, Cayro Jones and Calvin Haye aka Moonie are jointly charged in the Williams case. Furthermore, reports indicate that a sixth person will face charges in the case.
Meanwhile, Kartel faces another court appearance later this month regarding his other murder case in which he and three other men allegedly shot and killed, Barrington "Bossie" Burton, a St. Catherine businessman/promoter this past July.
